Entries are now open for poster abstracts for the 2009 Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) Annual Spring Conference and Exhibition which will focus on Essential Updates and Lively Debates. The Conference and Exhibition - taking place on 17th and 18th March 2009 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham - is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2009 and to mark the occasion the ICR has enhanced the format of the event to make it more interactive and address more member questions. The poster subject format has been updated, now with three categories for entrants to submit their entries - innovation, research and operational. Winners will be picked by a judging committee on the first day of the conference; successful authors will receive a cash prize and their posters will be featured in the ICR’s member magazine, CRfocus and on its website Susan Ollier, chair of the ICR and a member of the abstract judging committee, explained: “We are looking for abstract submissions which are original and creative, clearly illustrating the subject matter and featuring focused content. In addition to presenting the poster abstract, the authors will be asked to informally present their posters to the judges and answer any questions we may have. “The quality of entries over the last few years has been high and I am confident we will see even better entries this year.” All poster abstracts should be submitted via the ICR website at www.icr-global.org/community/conferences before the deadline of Friday 19th December and authors will be notified in January if their abstract has been accepted for presentation. Further details about the 30th Anniversary ICR Spring Conference and Exhibition will be announced over the next few weeks but in the meantime details can be found on the ICR website at http://www.icr-global.org or by calling 01628 536971.
